As an educator, I recognize the importance of providing my students with the values, skills, and tools that they will need to succeed as they learn and grow. The foundation on which this must be built is the desire to learn and grow as an individual and alongside others. To ensure that each of my students can find success in education, I believe it is necessary to create a safe and nurturing environment that considers each student’s individual intellectual as well as social, emotional, and cultural needs. Through considering each of these aspects and educating our students holistically, we can ensure that each of our students’ success is being valued and that we are consistently acting in their best interest. By providing ongoing formative feedback to our students, especially through one-on-one conferencing, we provide our students with the feedback that they need to be successful as they learn and grow throughout life.
